I have been interested in the La Téne period for

approximately 10 years.  I enjoy the period because of the

combat techniques and the diverse weapon designs.   The

majority of the items in my collection I have made myself

and have based on original examples.  I chose the name

Boduognatus because of its meaning (son of crow).

Collection

This is a La Téne I rivet hilt.  Yew wood was used for the two slabs that are riveted together and the pommel plate is forged wrought iron.

This is a La Téne III double fullered sword based on a blade from the Port find.  The hilt is apple and bone with a steel pommel sphere.

This is an Ardenwood Forge knotched spear.

The first dagger is a Paul Binn's anthropomorphic dagger.

The second is an Irish dagger/shortsword I made from a re-ground Atlanta cutlery Qama.

1.  La Téne III shield inspired by shields from the Arch at Orange.  This shield has a rawhide

rim and was covered with leather before being painted with milk paints.  The boss was

      purchased.

2.  An Iberian shield with metal rim painted with milk paint and then waxed.

3.  A British hide shield inspired by a votive offering.  This has a rawhide rim.  The front of the

shield was covered with linen before being painted with milk paints.

4.  La Téne I-II with a wide rawhide rim, walnut umbo, and a strap boss that I made from

sheet.  The face of this shield was also covered with leather before being painted with

     pigments mixed in hide glue.
